Annual retreats 2025/26 events

BIRD LANGUAGE + NATURE CONNECTION + RETREATS

I have 4 bird language retreats coming up across NSW in what’s left of 2025, with more to come in 2026, including my third time back to Melbourne!

Upcoming Retreats

“The hardest thing of all to see is what is really there” – JA Baker (The Peregrine)

It’s not a requirement of any of these retreats to be a ‘card-carrying’ birdwatcher, nor are bird watchers our target audience. Most of the folk who attend our retreats come with very little technical knowledge of birds. In fact, we welcome the complete novices. The people who come to our retreats bring with them a love for the natural world and a passion to deepen their connection and integration with that world. Many also seek to learn how they can apply these learnings in their professional work as teachers, therapists, psychologists, photographers and ecologists.

Bird language retreats offer the opportunity for attuning our sensory experience of being truly present and mindful in nature, with birds as our lifelong teachers. Learning to pay attention to birds and the myriad of ways in which they communicate with each other and the world around them invites us to genuinely participate in the joy of wild nature rather than simply looking-in from the outside.

What others have said after attending bird language retreats:

“It’s a magical course in a magical location!” Julianne (Bird Language Retreat, 2022)

Far exceeded expectations. I was a bit concerned it would be all tree-hugging and I would be totally out of my comfort zone but Andrew allayed those fears in the first session. Andrew was a spectacular presenter. He demonstrated a depth of knowledge that he was able to impart to the varied participants and was a great entertainer as well. He kept us enthralled.” Noeline (Bird Language Retreat 2020)

It was a truly inspirational workshop! – Caitlin (Bird Language Retreat 2021)

Thank you so much!! What an amazing and memorable weekend it was! Andrew has a wonderful teaching style! Awesome! – Maree (Bird Language Retreat 2021)

The experiences and learning offered at these retreats reprogram your brain’s sensory awareness to an older way of being in the world, when listening for bird language meant the difference between life and death. Through active listening to the many voices of birds you will learn to track the movement of predators across the landscape and notice the subtle changes in seasonal transitions.

This is a unique opportunity to dramatically expand the scope and detail of what you are capable of noticing, to truly see what is really there.
