The course literally opened my ears to the rich world of vocal communication between birds themselves as well as other living beings. It has also furthered my belief in mindfulness, in letting nature come to us rather than chasing it in the pursuit of goals. I now often simply sit somewhere beautiful and wait or move slowly and quietly through a bird habitat. It is amazing how much more you can see and hear when you let yourself blend into their world without the pressure of “getting the shot”. I highly recommend the course to anyone wanting to deepen their experiences in nature.

This course really heightened my curiosity about the bird world and also nature in general. During the course (and since the course) I have found myself wondering more, stopping to observe things closer, paying attention to other things around me to build a sense of environmental context, interacting with creatures in a new way to build trust and changing how I create theories and hypothesis about the world around me. I found it very inspiring, I loved sharing stories with the group and the weekly sessions helped me to develop wandering and sit spot routines through a sense of accountability.

This course engages your intellect, curiosity and sense of wonder. You’ll discover that all around you – even in the midst of the city – there are bird sounds waiting to be heard.
