Also recorded at the birdbath in summer. It was a juvenile bird. Young whipbirds are perhaps the most stoked-to-be-alive of any bird on Earth. They’re completely hilarious. It’s a wonder that any live to adulthood. Although the call resembles the contact call (chortling and rasping sounds) made by adult whipbirds when they are getting about together in the undergrowth – mostly foraging and not in the birdbath, this call is unique enough to warrant being classified as a specific voice.
